Leupold Alumina Flip Back Lens Cover 36mm 59040 Review

Leupold Alumina Flip Back Lens Cover 36mm 59040 Feature

  • Flip-back lens cover designed for Leupold 36mm riflescopes
  • Powerful neodymium magnet holds cover securely over the lens
  • Triple O-ring seals provide max protection; flips open quickly and easily
  • Clockable design lets you rotate cover to open in any direction
  • Machined-aluminum precision construction; available in several sizes
Leupold optics have long set the standard for high performance, and now, with Alumina accessories, the company sets the standard for adaptability, too. Each Alumina flip-back lens cover features a powerful neodymium magnet to hold it securely closed over the lens, along with triple O-ring seals for maximum protection from the elements. More significantly, the cover flips open easily when you want to view an object through your Leupold riflescope, so you don't need to manually remove the cover before targeting an object. The cover is even clockable, so you can rotate it to open in any direction. Other details include a machined-aluminum precision construction, a low-profile design, and quick and easy operation. This particular matte black cover is designed for Leupold 36mm lenses, but covers are available for a variety of other sizes of eyepieces and objective lenses.

About Leupold
From humble immigrant beginnings, Leupold grew--based on a promise of quality--to become a classic American company. In 1907, Fred Leupold set up a one-man shop at 5th and Oak streets in Portland to repair surveying equipment. He was joined by his brother-in-law, Adam Voelpel, and later by inventor John Cyprian Stevens, and the foundations for a century of success were in place.

During Leupold’s second half-century, the company focused heavily on the sports optics business. Leupold’s presence in the hunting and shooting market expanded with innovative optics and features that are now legendary among hunters, shooters, and outdoors enthusiasts. Many of the industry’s standards--nitrogen waterproofing, the Duplex reticle, and more--were Leupold creations.

Alumina flip-back lens covers – feature powerful neodymium magnets to hold them securely closed and triple O-ring seals for maximum protection from the elements. Their machined-aluminum precision construction, quick and easy operation, and a low-profile position when open make our flip-back lens covers stand above the rest. The round objective models are clockable, so you can rotate them to open any direction. Available in a variety of sizes for both eyepieces and objectives.

Nikon Monarch 8-32x50ED SF Black Matted Riflescope (Fine Crosshair with Dot)

Nikon Monarch 8-32x50ED SF Black Matted Riflescope (Fine Crosshair with Dot) Review

Nikon Monarch 8-32x50ED SF Black Matted Riflescope (Fine Crosshair with Dot) Feature

  • Long-range riflescope with 8 to 32x magnification and 50mm objective lens
  • Fine Crosshair with Dot reticle maximizes scope's magnification and clarity
  • 4 inches of constant eye relief; Ultra ClearCoat optical system for sharpness
  • Interchangeable turret technology; easy-to-reach side-focus parallax dial
  • Waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof; measures 16.5 inches
Armed with 91 years of experience and a clean sheet of paper, Nikon's engineers created the Monarch riflescope, a flagship model that shatters the limits of what a riflescope should be.

The scope's 4 inches of constant eye relief protects the shooter's brow.
The Monarch 8-32x50ED scope starts with an impressive power range and massive ocular lenses with ED glass, helping deliver a huge, exceptionally bright, high-resolution picture. The scope also includes a specially calibrated Fine Crosshair with Dot reticle that maximizes the scope's long-range magnification and clarity.

Nothing boosts a shooter's level of confidence better than generous, constant eye relief, which is why the Monarch's eye relief measures 4 inches. No more rough kickback from heavy recoiling cartridges, lightweight rifles, severe shooting angles, and just plain excitement. Nikon also included its Ultra ClearCoat (UCC) optical system, which is engineered to provide the shooter with a bright, sharp, incredibly flat sight picture and light transmission up to 95 percent of the theoretical maximum. And hunters will appreciate the Monarch's interchangeable turret technology. All 1-inch tube Monarchs can be customized with accessory target-style windage and elevation adjustment knobs and caps.

Other features include an easy-to-reach side-focus parallax dial; a smooth zoom control with magnification reference numbers viewable from the shooter's position; a nitrogen-filled, O-ring-sealed housing that's waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof; and support for an optional sunshade accessory for bright, rainy, or dusty conditions. The Monarch scope mounts to virtually any rifle action regardless of caliber, even magnum length actions.

The Fine Crosshair with Dot reticle maximizes the scope's long-range magnification and clarity.

Night Owl Explorer Marine Pro Night Vision Scope

Night Owl Explorer Marine Pro Night Vision Scope Review

Night Owl Explorer Marine Pro Night Vision Scope Feature

  • Weather-resistant two-piece rubber-coated body; 100-percent waterproof for use in any weather condition
  • Has ergonomic soft-touch control buttons and indicator lights
  • Superior optical resolution
  • Range of view is 650 feet
  • This item is prohibited from export outside the US
I have been looking for an affordable night vision scope for years, and I believe I have found it in the aptly named Night Owl Explorer. The well-thought-out design and powerful optics make this scope a pure pleasure to use. Since finding it, I have spent many nights standing on my back porch exploring with my eyes the area around my home.

With the Night Owl, you will see an image as if you just looked through a regular optical device, except the image will appear in a monochrome green color.
This little gem literally turns night into day: There is not an area in my yard that is not visible to me, even on the darkest of nights. It works like a powerful spotlight, directing a very bright beam visible only through the lens.

The Night Owl fit my hand perfectly, and the deep blue rubber outer coating made for a nice look and feel, while also weatherproofing the unit. The handy strap held it tight to my palm, placing both the Power and the Illuminator buttons directly under my fingers for easy control. The care taken with the Night Owl extends to the smallest of details, including power management: Simply setting it down turns the power off so you will never accidently run the batteries down. --Dave Cole

Nikon's renowned Brightvue multi-coating provides 92% light transmission for outstanding optical clarity.
One of the world's best-known optics companies, Nikon Sport Optics, has teamed with one of the nation's most respected sporting organizations, Buckmasters, to produce a riflescope line featuring high-quality optics.

Built to withstand the toughest hunting conditions, these scopes integrate shock-, fog-, and water-proof construction, as well as numerous other features rarely found on riflescopes in this price range. Nikon's Brightvue anti-reflective system of multicoated lenses provides over 92% anti-reflection capability for the high levels of light transmission and optical clarity necessary for dawn-to-dusk big game hunting. After the lenses are cut and polished, Nikon coats them with multiple layers of anti-reflective compounds. The compounds serve to boost light transmission, improve contrast to pull game out of its surroundings, deliver true color rendition and flare-free viewing, and enhance the overall image quality.

    About Porro Prism Binoculars:
The prism system of a binocular reduces the size needed to contain a long optical path and turns what would be an upside-down image right-side-up. In porro prism binoculars, the objective or front lens is offset from the eyepiece. Porro prism binoculars provide greater depth perception and generally offer a wider field-of-view.
